Nasty precedent. If throwing shoes constitutes an assault when commiitted by non Muslims but not when committed by Muslims, we are on the road to legalized stoning, beheading, and honor killing.
You bring up a good point. However, where there is a will, there is a way.
Hmmm, let's see. Beheading a virgin is acceptable in some religions. Female circumcision is also acceptable in some religions. A forced marriage of 6 and 10 yr old sounds fairly good as well as consumation of that marriage.
Is this court and the others to follow going to accept in our culture that which, in our culture, is considered morally and physically reprehensible? The term 'slippery slope' is a cliche by now but seems most appropriate here.
