Mentor Jamie Foxx has some schtick with t-shirts. One says "contestant" the other says "artist". He wants all the singers to earn the "artist" shirt. He gives one to Lee. "Don't make me come take it away from you."
Lee's song is Seal's "Kiss From A Rose".
Um. It's not great. Some very flat notes here and there. I don't know what the judges will say.
Randy: Gotta agree with Jamie in one way--who is in this to become an artist. For me, you did nothing with that song. It was pitchy. Be a rocker. Choose Blaze of Glory by Bon Jovi.
Ellen: There could have been more done with the song. But you're so good.
Kara: Lee you had a great week last week. One of the most difficult songs to sing. You got lost, some out of tune issues. But you are still great.
Simon: I'm with Randy on this. There are so many brilliant movies and songs. That was verging on karaoke. Trying too hard to sound like the original. You need a "contestant" t-shirt.
Seacrest asks why he picked that song.
Lee: I enjoyed singing it so I'm gonna sing it.
But it was awful, Lee. Jamie Foxx should have talked you out of it.
