Lee is adorable. The way he almost believes in himself is edibly charming. And he’s got the best SOUND to his voice.
Listen with your eyes closed. You will be surprised. With my eyes closed, the most interesting of the bunch were Lee, which I figured, Aaron, which freaked me out, and Casey when he is ON.
While Big Mike (BM for short) has a good voice, his voice is boring with your eyes closed. You don’t want to hear another song of his afterward. And sorry but Bowersox also was kind of boring too. I know she is good, but her voice alone doesn’t pop. Still I know the package is what counts.
He better stay away from Mike then because it looks like Mike's been eating everything in sight! ;-)
I think Lee is cool. The genuineness he exudes will make him a music celebrity in all the right ways. He almost looks and sounds like he could singlehandedly bring real music back!
Funny you should say that- I listen to them with my eyes closed as well because there is nothing to distract me.
I loved Aaron’s voice; he almost had a Mel Torme softness to it. He needs more stage experience, but he always gave 100% and never had any excuses and only did one self-indulgent song, which was for his mother.
Bowersox has a diva-like attitude and I thought her last performance was awful. She has gotten a little worse each week; she can sing and perform, but has lost her excitement-vocally and personally. She needs to eat a slice of humble pie. Whenever she is critised, she pretty much has the attitude of -so what-I know what I’m doing and will do what I want. At first people applauded that, but as her songs became less entertaining for us-the audience-it became a turn off.
Lee is the real deal and he said it all this past week; he takes all of their criticism in, thinks about it, works a little harder and does his best. And that’s what it’s all about. He has his own style and sound and I could listen to him sing songs back to back. And it has been wonderful to see his confidence grow before our eyes.He is a breath of fresh air.
The rest? snack break.
I must add: this is all IMHO as a former singer and performer.
