rose bush that had been used on a hybrid I don't understand what or how you use a rose bush on a hybrid.

I guess a hybrid is grafted onto a normal rose. I had a lavendar rose and after about 6/7 years the rose is now red. I know nothing about what goes on with hybrids, but I do know where my lavendar rose was, the plant is now red. That’s why I think the red rose I’m going to dig up is the true root.
