A BLESSED GOOD FRIDAY TO ALL!

THE LEGEND of the DOGWOOD
*
An old and beautiful legend has it that, at the time of the crucifixion,
the dogwood was comparable in size to the oak tree and other monarchs of the forest.
Because of its firmness and strength it was selected as the timber for the cross,
but to be put to such a cruel use greatly distressed the tree.

Sensing this, the crucified Jesus in his gentle pity for the sorrow and suffering of all said to it:
“Because of your sorrow and pity for My sufferings,
never again will the dogwood tree grow large enough to be used as a cross.

Henceforth it will be slender, bent and twisted and its blossoms will be
in the form of a cross ~ two long and two short petals.
In the center of the outer edge of each petal there will be nail prints ~
brown with rust and stained with red ~
and in the center of the flower will be a crown of thorns,
and all who see this will remember.”

YEA! PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD!

I promised some I’d ping y’all when I got back from the surgery to remove my upper teeth.

PRAISE GOD! THE SAW WAS NOT NEEDED AFTER ALL.

None of the teeth were difficult enough to be charged at $240/tooth! PRAISE GOD! A big answer to prayer with no insurance!

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND CARING—EACH ONE OF YOU. SUCH A WELCOME AND NEEDFUL SUPPORT. WORDS CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH.

It only took about 45 min vs 1.5 hrs with the lowers.

I don’t feel like running any races but it was a LOT better than the lower teeth’s festivities.

And, evidently both upper and lower dentures will fit reasonably well together. My normal jaw moderate askewedness had left me with some concern in that department.

AND! MERCIFULLY, I NOW HAVE AN EXCUSE TO EAT SOME ICE CREAM! Wellll fudgsicles anyway! And ice chips. Wheeee.

Then I guess it’s some more weeks of oatmeal, broth and gruel. Yummy. LOL.

I REALLY DO APPRECIATE Y’ALL SO ENORMOUSLY.

For those of us without significant surviving family, YOU CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS FOLKS ARE REAL TREASURES IN THE LORD.

XIE XIE!
XIE XIE!
XIE XIE!

THANKS THANKS! TONS AND TONS.

I suspect I’ll be napping more than usual for 24 hours or so. JUST KNOW THAT I’M SO RELIEVED AND BLESSED BY Y’ALL’S PRAYERS AND CARING AND THAT YOUR PRAYERS WERE SO EFFECTIVE IN MAKING THIS AS . . . BENIGN AND NAVIGABLE AS IT WAS.

MAY GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU 10 FOLD IN RETURN.

LOVE YOU BIG! LUB! LOVE YOU BIG! LUB! LOVE YOU BIG! LUB!

Beautiful dogwood blossom and legend, yorkie! I love that legend. I have a small brown pitcher on my piano. My SIL gave it to me many years ago and it had a little cardboard card with it with the Legend on it. It was attached with little rubber band, so I put it inside the pitcher and its been there forever. (It does get washed occasionally.) Brought back memories of the good old days! I'm sentimental about everything today.
