Wow, I just came back to look at responses... Its overwhelming to see all the responses and advice! This country has such great people that look out for each other and help their fellow man. The Communist pieces of feces trying to ruin this country will pay!

I am definitely soaking all of this up! Bookmarked and all.

Now, if war and blowing sad ass people away is not your bag, get a pressure washer. Man, it has power.Get one with pro tips. You and a buddy could wash three decks a day, stain two with a power painter/stain tip, plus have another two waiting each day. Add the siding jobs that need cleaning, the cement driveways, etc. Try a whopping $300 or less to get started. Hell, I offered my wife’s son my pressure washer, wrote an ad, had ten jobs lined up in the first week. He did not want to work, which is the problem with many young. Heck, you use their water, ask them what stain/preservative they want, and they buy it. If they want Olympic- you will be back next year or two. Cabot, and; you forget them for awhile.

You didn't say the size of the town you live in or if you are fit or not. My advice is to sell your labor while you are young. There is a labor shortage in most places but the smallest towns. A reasonable sized town always needs yard work, trash hauling, and other "work" others don't seem to want to do. My dad always said to figure out what others won't do and you volunteer and charge the crap out of them. It got me a plumbers helper job doing sewer work mostly and a chance to get my Journeyman's license by the Master plumber. I made as much as the Journeyman because he didn't want to do it anymore and the Master was giving me a free education and said he would make sure I got my license from Austin. The Army got me, so it was messed up when I got back and he hired someone else, but the principle still works. One of the richest men in Houston right now started with 2 pickups and a few illegal aliens hauling toxic waste. No one else wanted to do it. He now runs an billion dollar plus business on the NYSE. When your young, sell your labor. Another plus is working weekends and long hours. Most kids today think a job should be 9-5 M-F. When you are older, sell your brain.

Just as an example, right now, I need my water line dug up to fix a leak, I need my patio re roofed, I need to clear a ditch of brush for a couple hundred feet, I have 2 vehicles to fix, my garage needs cleaned( about a 2 day job of heavy lifting), and my front lawn by the street needs the brush cleaned about 15 feet deep by 200 feet long. I plan to have it all done by June, but would pay for some of it if I could find someone that would work and finish the job without whining about how they had to leave because their back hurts. I'm almost 59 and can usually work circles around 20 somethings. Labor is what you have to sell right now and if you sell it as a bagger at the local market, you won't get gas money. Working for someone else is slow death. Work for yourself, set the rates as you see fit.
