Thank Goodnes!! The thought about of you losing another passport woke me up about 0130 and lost some sleep over it.
When I worked oversees people would come in after having lost theirs.

A few year's back, my passport was stolen and since then - I'm overly protective and carry it everywhere. The other day, I had it in my shirt pocket and when the taxi driver got lost, I pulled out my hotel key protector which had a map on it. I suppose I put my passport temporarily on my lap and forgot about it.

Later in my room - no passport !!!! I'm in the “trusted traveler” program where, on arrival in the US, I can simply put my hand and this passport in a machine and skip the long custom lines - so I would have been really upset to lose it.
