I recently saw a young woman wearing a wide, high-placed belt over a sweater. It was similar to some of these "boob belt" looks, except that it was worn over skinny jeans. It really looked cute on her, but she was a slim 20-something with a fashion sense. Furthermore, this young woman was working as a hair stylist in a casual, youthful salon. Perfect all the way around. She could have worn a burlap sack tied with a belt and carried it off. Funny enough, when I complimented her on it, she said she'd had the belt for a while, but wasn't sure about wearing this style, since she wasn't sure it was flattering.
Whenever we choose styles, we need to consider age, build, fitness and occasion. I wear colorful little sweaters layered over tank tops, even though I'm a mature woman with teen-aged sons. I wear them in casual settings, though, and I'm considerably more petite than the Amazon from Chicagoland. I'd never be caught outside my home in much of what she wears. She could really use a Stacey and Clint intervention, but she sure doesn't need the $5,000 credit card when she has all of us to pay her bills . . .
I am a large woman - bigger than Michelle. I know how to dress to draw attention away from my wider parts. Michelle does not. Her clothes are almost always too form fitting, her belts are a joke, and the sweaters make her look larger than she is because they do not fit. Whomever is letting her go out like that knows these things. They are basic in dressing for a large person. Someone out there is trying to make an a** of her and succeeding very well.
