two things:
#1 your screen name is the title of one of my all time favorite books.
#2 does anyone know if there is any correlation to that atom smasher starting up and the recent earthquakes?

What’s the propagation speed through the earth? To the other side of the world. If it does happen.

She’s going against a ‘consensus’. Where have I heard that before?

An update. Thanks Touch Not the Cat.
A German woman fearing that Earth would be sucked into oblivion in a black hole failed on Tuesday in her court attempt to halt the world's most powerful atom-smasher. The Constitutional Court in the western Germany city of Karlsruhe threw out the woman's appeal because she was "unable to give a coherent account of how her fears would come about."
What, court cases have to be coherent now?

It happens all the time with cosmic ray/particle collisions in the upper atmosphere. It would just be nice to analyze what’s going on therein.

We could have built a competetive machine in Texas some years ago, but Congress killed it.

If it happens, it will happen so fast that we’ll never know.

Or, perhaps it’s already happened, and we simply can’t tell from inside the Black Hole.

She failed in her rendering of the events and or circumstances necessary to produce an Earth eating black hole, but the scientists haven’t proven that it will not happen, and the judge sits on the fence.
