Um...I’m pretty sure they consider that one of those ‘cardinal’ sins. Better to just lie back and ‘think of England’ versus ‘thinking about rabbits behind the garage,’ LOL!
But make good dinner!
My chickens will not put one TOE outside of the coop if there is snow on the ground. They’re goofy that way.
We call it bunny hoppin in these here parts.
I have a dozen or so Buffs. They are the Best. Chicken. Ever. :)
Chicken manure should be composted for a minumum of a year before it touches anything. :)
Roosters are useless feeders unless you’re wanting to breed your own chicks.
Once a hen reaches maturity (about 9 months old) she lays an egg once every 72 hours or so, whether she is fertilized or not.
It’s just like a human female releasing an egg every 28-30 days, but with a quicker turnaround time, LOL! (And hens aren’t so crabby about the process!)
I have a hen that actually ‘barks.’ She’s just goofy, and imprinted on one of the dogs while she was being raised from a chick.
She’ll make a sound like, “Yip! Yip!” when she sees me or the dogs, which is downright weird.
What a great job. Still envious.
The interior is knockout too.
