King Solomon's Mines revisited?
Actually this may not be so far fetched since the area of the Transvaal at the time of the Boers was still wide open, the Bantu migrations south were just beginning. It could have been an area that a fleeing tribe of Israel would find accommodating. There were only disorganized Hottentots and primitive Bushmen at the time of the Boers and later the English so who knows what the area was like 2500 years earlier. Probably just empty space.

The Cohen gene showed up among the Lemba, but was first identified among European Jews either with the related surname, or with family traditions of descent from Aaron. Pretty hot stuff. :’) There was of course an immediate kneejerk reactionary response to the finding, which reiterates every once in a while.
