When one of those things lands in the street in front of the White House or the Chinese Presidential Palace and some bug-eyed grey skinned alien gets out and calls a news conference, then I’ll believe it.

The camera just calmly pans up and rests on the object - no nervousness or anything exhibited by the person filming.
If I thought that thing was a real UFO I’d be freaking out.

the news media are afraid to cover this in any seriousness

ditto with pilots and other in the aviation business

several years ago a *large* UFO hovered right over a terminal at O’Hare airport at about 5PM

after initial on the local news, everyone (pilots, tower, ground crews) was afraid to talk about what they saw, and then the usual ridicule started and the whole thing went away

That’s what I thought...kites. The small ones circles the big one in a way that a kite couldn’t but that could be CGI.
