The reason I mention it is that the default view will seem skewed to whatever is generating the most thread hits at the moment or new threads depending on which tab you're on. Unless you block it out a natural periodic change in proportion will look like the denizens of that forum are trying to take over FR. It isn't the case at all.
That said in the defense of the RF, I will state that the reason those posts alarm people more than others is that you also get the first couple of lines with the header, and that frequently those are remarkably unpleasant stuff. It is well-known that it is the only forum on FR that requires its own Moderator and carefully tiered classes of threads (Open, Ecumenical, whatnot) in order to prevent open bloodshed. That chronic, cliquish nastiness is one of the reasons those of us who visit periodically in order to pursue an education tend not to stay very long. It's also why "if you don't like it, don't click on it" isn't the best advice - if you keep the default view some of it is going to be in your face even if you don't click on it. Frankly I think it's a legitimate complaint. Block what you can and grow a thicker skin for the rest is my advice. And welcome to FR.
