it was something about how conservative Mexicans are and how they would likely vote Republican...

If Obama gives illegals amnesty then social security, welfare, food stamps, housing and healthcare, who will they vote for? They will all want the free to continue so they will vote for dems who like entitlements. I definately think Obama has these plans. Whether he is smart enough or has enough supporters to get it done,doubtful.
Entitlement seeking minorities are slaves to the dem party and always have been. Legal or illegal.
40 million would neutralize American votes period. But who says each one would vote? Or would Obama have ACORN vote for them?

Notice how their 10 million illegals just became 12 million in the NYT article?
I say it is more like 20 million. If it is in fact 40 million as lamecherry suggests, America will crush from all the weight of entitlements within a year after amnesty.
