>>>> ".....what the brother said in regard to not being able to comprehend how friends and associates surrounding his brother would not have missed him sooner than later." " <<<<

I had the impression that the family stated quite often that LMDC was a very private person; so I don't think that they were surprised that his curling friends and/or neighbors didn't notice he wasn't home --- afterall, in Australia, close friends referred to him as the "Gypsy Scientist" due to his constant travel all over the globe.

However, I do believe that Rupert Cranswick was totally angry about the folks at Chalk River Nuclear Plant -- as well he should be.

Can you even begin to imagine that a place that is supposed so very secure doesn't even notice when one of its experts disappears???

And they try to cover up with stating, oh but his colleague wasn't working that week, we just didn't notice, didn't he have time off, why are you asking us????

I certainly hope that security at American nuclear facilities is taken MUCH more seriously, if LMDC was my relative, I'd be conferring with an attorney because I would be absolutely furious with Chalk River.

There are plenty of allusions to "unnamed agencies" researching his disappearance, but I doubt that VERY much; if they were seriously concerned about security, they wouldn't be so late in commencing a search. It's absolutely scandalous.

The first thing I thought of when I heard of his "mysterious" disappearance was that he might, against his will, be held either in North Korea or in Iran, that he'd been kidnapped either by such rogue states or else terrorists, or the red mafia, --- but the folks at Chalk River --- they didn't even KNOW that one of their own was missing, isn't that simply scandalous? I'd like to know how many nuclear scientists in the USA could simply not show up at their workplace, FOR A WEEK, and SECURITY didn't even note their absence. How contemptible.

There is discussion of the California murder over at the WS discussion about the mysterious disappearance of LC:

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/printthread.php?t=95134&pp=25&page=23

One of the posters over there mentioned that LC had a file entitled 'PIZZA' and brought up this earlier murder from the "Dead Scientists" lists.

....One possible clue, however, came from a close associate of the slain woman. Igor Roninson, Holzmayer's friend of more than 30 years who heads the Division of Molecular Oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, said Holzmayer fired Huang in June from a Menlo Park research company where they were working together.

There doesn't appear to be any connection whatsoever, here.

Someone at WS discovered that Lachlan knew one of the Dead Scientists on Steve Quayle's master list.

Google Search: "Ian Langford" CRANSWICK

The Mystery Of The Dead Scientists Coincidence Or Conspiracy?
"......Ian Langford, 40, a senior Fellow at the University of East Anglia's Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment, was discovered on Monday night by police and ambulancemen. The body was naked from the waist down and partly wedged under a chair. It is understood that doors to the terraced house were locked. A post-mortem examination failed to establish how Dr Langford, who lived alone in the house in Norwich, died....."

Kelly's Death Linked W/ Ian Langford's

"......Academics today poured scorn on conspiracy theorists linking the death of a Norwich researcher with the apparent suicide of Government weapons expert Dr David Kelly.

The half-naked dead body of Dr Ian Langford was found under a chair at his home in Marlborough Road, Norwich, in February last year.

The walls of his living room were covered in blood, but tests concluded the 40-year-old University of East Anglia researcher had died from natural causes. An inquest into his death never took place.

Conspiracy theorists have since speculated Dr Langford could have been murdered — along with another 24 scientists — because of their links to biological or chemical weapons. Dr Kelly is the latest death in unusual circumstances to set the theorists gossiping. The suggestion that the.......

Anyone aware that Don Wiley was not really a microbiologist?

Don Wiley was an x-ray crystallographer

I never read over there, so I had no idea.

The professor was most widely known for his work in X-ray crystallography. He was widely regarded as the nation's foremost expert in using special X-ray cameras and mathematical formulas to make high-resolution images of viruses.

Nuclear Science - Chalk River Laboratories
.....The National Research Universal (NRU) reactor, one of the world's most versatile research reactors, has been operating at CRL since 1957. NRU is Canada's only major materials and fuel testing reactor used to support and advance the CANDU design. It also produces neutrons used by the National Research Council's Neutron Beam Centre to investigate and non-destructively study all types of industrial and biological materials. Lastly, NRU continues to produce the majority of the world's medical isotopes used in both the diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening diseases. NRU does not produce electricity, but rather tests the fuels and materials for CANDU reactors which AECL designs and sells around the world.

Day 5 of vacation?????

Yeah, sure.

Right.

Sure thing.

Someone in Canada posts that recently on the late evening news they state that LC was on vacation ---- apparently forgetting that he'd been to work on the 18th and wasn't seen after being sighted near the Deep River Post Office.

The fact of the matter, IF all of the other articles are accurate, is that no one even knows if he, himself, put out the trash and the wrong color recysling bin.

He rode the bus home from work, and was seen near the post office.

So now....... over a month and a half later they FINALLY decide to mention on the news that he was on VACATION, and didn't disappear until Day 5, when actually he was never seen by anyone, anywhere, after the 18th????

".....Saturday night on CTV latenight news, there was a piece about Cranswick.  It did state that he went missing on day 5 of a week's vacation.  Different people were interviewed a bit; and the main thought was, this is not normal for this man to disappear this sudden and in this manner (without his personal belongings) as Cranswick was very organized and a "stickler for details"......especially the fact that the lights were still turned on inside the house...."

I think that’s the most plausible possibility . . . .probability.

Particularly in that field . . .

Or . . . he knew the oligarchy was breathing down his neck to make him their slave . . . and chose to disappear.

I doubt that’s very likely, though. Given his obsessiveness, I doubt he’d have been brave enough to let go of enough issues and stuff to get to first base on disappearing.

Though it is interesting that it occurred after he took some leave . . .

Doubtless so. Maybe he ran off because he was perturbed. And we don’t know where to look to bring him back into existence.

If he’s perturbed enough, by shining a little light on his general location, he might throw off something manifesting his position.
