An account, along with a photograph (above), of a UFO event that occurred in the skies above Budapest, the capital city of the Central European nation of Hungary, has been doing the rounds of the various related internet forums popular with UFO enthusiasts and researchers. The sighting took place on 4 february at 10:45. The witness, who managed to get a photo of the object, worte in relation to their experience:

I was having trouble sleeping and went onto my balcony to get some fresh air when I heard an odd sound. It was like magnetic pulsations rather than a standard engine noise. All the sudden I saw this object, or UFO about 500 meters away. It went silent and hovered for a while. Then the pulsating resumed and the object just disappeared. I managed to get a photo, it is not that great but was the best I could get. I talked to some neighbours in the morning and none of them saw anything at all but they did concede that they heard the odd noise and had problems sleeping.

'I cannot believe myself that with so many events like this happening around the world there are still people that our skeptical about UFOs and alien visitation. I realise that on publicizing my UFO experience people will call me mad and tell me that I imagined the whole thing.'

What do you think?

I have to think the same thing. I think you have to have a UFO mindset to see UFO’s. I have to say that I have seen strange things but I don’t think I have seen anything strange enough to immediately go to the UFO explanation.

“Meteors don’t hover.”

I was commenting on the photo and I dismiss the eyewitness out of hand.

Another blurry, out of focus photo. These UFO camera jockeys never get it right. He can't even center the photo. Perhaps it was intentional. It looks like one of those Valentine's Day balloons that has lost its helium buoyancy and is floating off the balcony.

Meteors don’t make “magnetic pulsation” sounds either, but then again I have no idea how any human could hear a “magnetic pulsation”. Perhaps it causes vibrations in the tinfoil hat?

I enjoy doing long-exposure photography for nighttime settings and even under ideal conditions it’s a challenge. You need a tripod to get any sharpness at all, it’s at times difficult to focus and the slightest movement of anything in the scene will lead to blurriness. If one is trying to take a picture in haste, there’s not enough time for setup, even if all the equipment is at hand. I would expect no better than that picture for a hand-held nighttime shot of a non-stationary illuminated object.

However, the photo is too poor to draw any sort of conclusion on what the photographer was attempting to photograph.

I love nightime photography and you're right about the focus challenge. Kinda hard to focus without a distant light to focus on. I've been experimenting and buying new equipment over the past year.

Full moon nights are kind of fun but you lose a lot of stars to the moonlight.
