In the US and UK children are growing up very sheltered in their day to day activities due to fears of “stranger danger”. Is Sweden the same, or do parents feel more comfortable letting their kids roam?

This obviously depends on a lot of different factors like are you living in the city, how old is your child etc. But usually kids go to school by themselves once they are six or maybe seven and are usually allowed to "roam". They are of course told the usual things like "don't talk to strangers" and "don't hop into a strangers car" but I wouldn't expect anything else from a worrying parent.
