After tasting 37 different blended coffees, Consumer Reports couldn't find one that measured up to its "excellent" or "very good" ratings, the publication said Tuesday.

Eight O’ Clock for me too. Every few months the local grocery has a 2 for 1 special on it so I stock up. This last time I had 5 coupons for a buck off per bag so 10 bags of coffee cost me two bucks apiece! :-)
Amazon is now selling it & all the 8 o'clock coffees. Shipping is free with Amazon Prime. Thank you !
Thanks - will have to try it!
I had my cursor ready to click “send” to buy some Cafe du Monde on-line but it was more to ship than the price of the coffee! I’ve waited this long - maybe I can find a place in Salt Lake that imports coffee.
Wait, what am I saying!
The best whole-bean for the money is Eight o’ Clock Coffee, which is inexpensive as well. Columbian and French Roast.
You will be thanking me.
Sign me up :-)
kinda parcel to the between roast myself
I haven't tried it, but we have it here in Mississippi.
Good technique! I am doing the same, not by design, but to slowly get rid of a fat can of MJB taking up too much room in the fridge that was left behind by caterers at a Thanksgiving party.
Gotta be careful though, serious mud coffee is very high among my bright spots of life right now and I am loath to diminish the experience.
OK, you are my new best friend!
Amazon sells Cafe du Monde, Luzianne and Community coffees! You can get free shipping on any order over $25 or everything is free shipping if you have an Amazon Prime membership.
I do believe I'm going to order one of each brand :-)
I wonder if an excellent rating could be had from CR if you mixed in the flavor of cigarette smoke with the coffee some how? Think about it. Coffee and cigarettes just go together. You could have a Marlboro Starbucks Frappachino, or a Folgers Virignia Slims, or how about a Tully’s Tareyton Menthol?
OK, this stovetop glass percolator is also on Amazon. Worth it? I mean it's only $14 something, but will it really be superior to a drip maker?
Amazon also has the old-fashioned electric percolators.
Jamaica Blue Mtn. Blend from Costco. About $10 for 2 lbs. Tasty.
Hoota! I used to buy JBM at the coffee shops in North Beach SF back in the early 70's for ten bucks a lb... marvelous taste and texture! Nowadays, I prefer a dark french/italian dark roast that's been run through a percolator. Talk about gettin your motor running!
Community Coffee. I’ve been going for the Private Reserve, whole bean style and grinding them myself. Delightful
You probably already tried this, but Community Coffee New Orleans style has chicory in it. It’s about 1 pound for 5 bucks or so. It’s great.
Ah, as usual I see I’m a day late and a dollar short! :)
