Back in the '90s we had an old doughboy in the nursing home I worked in, born 1896. He still had good mental faculties and was cantankerous as he could be. I had seen the huge scar on his abdomen and knew he had been shot in combat. One day I asked him about it. "You ever been in combat, son?" he asked. I said no and he grinned and said "then lemme tell you about the best part of the war...women. Boy they were somethin'".
I almost cried when that s.o.b. died.

I read a statistic recently that there are only 20 people in the US who are age 110 or older. So we can applaud this fine gentleman for reaching an age that few meet. May the Lord bless him.
