Robots are fine but they neither think nor possess any insight. I believe that God would have us look to inner space
(the Large Hadron Collider) and into outer space in our attempts to understand His universe,
thus to maximize our knowledge with the mind He gave to us.

The mars rovers have been an astounding success but a person can see something that piques his curiosity and potentially make a huge discovery. A robot has no curiosity and would ignore a pepsi can on mars if it encountered one.

Also a person could cover the same amount of ground in a matter of hours, what both rovers combined have covered in 6 years.
