Mechanical keyboard is an option (it slides into a dock). Don’t know how portable it is yet, but if Apple has one, you can be sure a 3rd party will come out with a good portable one.

Isn't that keyboard shown there a bluetooth keyboard, and thus..., shouldn't it just work with the iPad as a mechanical keyboard, if someone wanted to use it that way?

The keyboard slides into the dock, so it is a wired, not bluetooth connection.

I don’t know if Apple will open up the iPad / iPhone to Bluetooth keyboards now. I sure hope so.... (Think of the remote control possibilities.)

Bluetooth mouse would work too...I have one of those for my laptop.

Course it needs a driver ....
