I wonder if it would help with ulcerative colitis as well.

I wonder if it would help with ulcerative colitis as well.I'm typing over my head but that could be if the immune system is involved.

AND... a few years from now we’ll get another study saying, “We may have been wrong — it might exacerbate the problem.”

Yeah, I just saw where it mentioned “other inflammatory bowel diseases” which UC most definitely is.

The list of Vitamin D benefits just continues to grow. Amazing.

Even mainstream medicine is now actively promoting Vit D for immune system benefits. Recommended dose for all adults is often 1,000 IU, instead of the old standard 400 IU.
Post “change” women are higher.
Seems to be some solid evidence out there now.

I take 4000 to 6000 a day. Your body uses about 4000 I.U. a day. I’ve been taking 4-6000 I.U. a day for several years, except in the summer, I drop it to around 2000 a day then. Just to maintain a decent D blood level. It’s very hard to OD on D.

I have several relatives both near and distant on the family tree that have either ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease (mostly male). We’re all related through a common Oubre ancestor here in south Lousiana and we figure that’s where the gene comes.

Thanks decimon. I've been told to start taking 2000 IU a day plus 250 or 500 mg Niacin.

International Units — and the conversion from IU to mg is not straightforward, as it turns out.
