Basically, everything from Springfield, IL to New Orleans and from Central Tennessee to Kansas is going to be down and out.
Kansas City would be hurt but still standing.
The main interior artery of the USA, the Mississippi River would, in all likely hood, not be navigable for a long period of time by anything but a small sport boat, maybe a pontoon boat.
Bridges over the Mississippi, Ohio, Missouri, etc rivers would be down, including railroad bridges.
Travel disrupted through the center of the country, I-80 might still be open, but just about everything but air travel.

The problem is that the “zombie” population would destroy what is left standing in the outlying cities.
