4 The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
In this John Ford Western, Wayne stars as a rancher who pairs up with a law school grad (James Stewart) to take down the bad guy.

My No.1 favorite is “The Cowboys”. I’m not a movie person, but this one is truly great.
all great movies, but it can’t believe “the cowboys” or “the quiet man” didn’t make the top 10. those are my personal favorites.
I’d go for the “Shootist” which he did while in a lot of pain.
They’ll never name an acting school after him.
WYSIWYG!
The Duke was King
The Searchers by far but I am also partial to Liberty Valance.
now hurry up and correct it “WE’RE BURNING DAYLIGHT”!!!!
I liked TMWS Liberty Valence best. I also liked “Big Jake”. Yes, the acting of his and Mitchum’s son in Jake was horrible, but it’s a fun movie. “The Cowboys” (where he took the teenagers on a cattle drive) was a classic also. Come to think of it, I can’t think of a single bad John Wayne movie.
sorry i stand corrected. the quiet man IS there.
yeah..3 great actors in that one..probably why i like it so much. not to mention Vera Miles. But she was also in the Searchers.
everytime i watch Libierty..I gotta go get a steak afterwards.
On Parris Island in 1989, we were shown ‘Sands of Iwo Jima’ and ‘The D.I.’.
Yeah, I'm partial to the John Ford works.....
I liked the 3 Godfathers and Angel & the Badman.
