I had the unfortunate experience of watching Shawshank with some friends.
You were probably to immature at the time to appreciate it. I felt the same way about Shindler’s List...I hated it. I was about 20 when it came out and thought it sucked. When I told my Mom how boring it was, she was kinda surprised because she enjoyed it so much. Well I saw it again 15 years later and thought it was fantastic. Try it again when you mature and you will find a different result.
I was 45 years old when I saw Shawshank.
I found it a childish movie, and boring for having little if any originality.
