Couldn’t it have actually possibly already exploded — say 3,259 years ago? We just haven’t been able tto see it yet.

Just thinking maybe we ain’t all that super safe due to the distance.

How’d we know?

Then again, it could already have exploded, since it would take 3,000 light years to get here.

On the other hand the article suggests this could happen 10 million years from now. Since the average species lives about 5 million years. Who knows what we will have become by then if we don’t off ourselves with nuclear winter or some such before then. I think I will worry about something else for now.
