“roommate”?

Yorkie was kind enough to open her home and offer assistance, when I had serious back problems. After major surgery, it was obvious that the surgery was not as successful as hoped for.

I am greatful for her hospitality, and caregiving (and good cooking!)

Hi, tiapam, I am sorry if "roommate" sounded funny - honestly I didn't mean anything other than I knew yorkie had opened her home to a long-time friend after surgery and was cooking and taking great care of her - I just didn't know that "tiapam" was that person when you first joined us! :)
