Basically it's just Linux that boots up into the Chrome browser instead of a desktop. Just like a Cisco router boots up into a proprietary application rather than a Bourne shell. What is the underlying OS of a Cisco router? Some flavor of UNIX?

What is the underlying OS of a Cisco router? Some flavor of UNIX? It's a heavily modified version of the old 4.4BSDLite. So yes, a version of Unix.
