Season 6...Gredenko was working with CTU, being tracked. Abu Fayed met Gredenko at the Santa Monica Pier and found the tracker. It was Fayed who cut off Gredenko's arm, to throw off Jack and his team. To partially redeem himself before dying, Gredenko narc'd out Fayed in the bar, and Jack subdued him.
Later on, Fayed decided to hang around...
