Has something to do with Bahrain's natural-born citizens (I'm sure Obama can produce a birth certificate) not wanting to do any work for themselves. Saudi Arabia's got a foreign work force amounting to about 25 percent of its population for the same reason.

I think it's pretty interesting, but I'd want to see a survey that only had U.S. expats for respondants, to find out which places they like best.

In the mid 90s there was an interesting set of forums for expats that I occasionally lurked at, the stories were fascinating.
