Even in the federal civil service, the hiring system is being changed to discover your political philosophy and private activities, and your job opportunities will suffer accordingly. I've a brilliant cousin (perfect LSAT score, top law school) who is a small town attorney and has been denied promotions and honors by the local bar because he is a Boy Scout leader. He refuses to give up Boy Scouts and is resigned to living life with his own values, in a struggling one man practice.
I suggest you take some courses in agriculture and home health care/nursing while you are still young. and learn a trade you can do with your hands.
A one-man practice is exactly what I’m looking for. There’s also demand for advocacy on behalf of Christian and Constitutional values - right down my alley. BTW, this is a second field in my career so making money is not a priority - doing something meaningful is.
