This morning, Kaiser covered a story from the Chicago Sun Times that stated that Elin Woods would be given “a hefty seven-figure amount — immediately transfered into an account she alone controls — to stick with her husband.” Elin was originally slated to receive $20 million out of Tiger’s billion dollar fortune if she stayed married to him for a full 10 years. The couple has been married just five years, but Tiger is trying to throw more money at Elin to get her to stay.
The Daily Beast has exclusive details of the prenup terms and the exact dollar amount incentives included in the revised version. According to sources, Elin has been offered the full prenup payout amount, $20 million, plus an additional $55 million if she stays with Tiger for two more years. In order to encourage her to stay, Elin has been given an immediate $5 million payment. The guy made $110 million last year and he’s been married to Elin for five years. If the settlement doesn’t reach nine figures I don’t think it’s fair. That’s a hell of a lot of money, but look at all the women this guy cheated with. He wants his wife to stay for two more years for less than 10% of his fortune. He’s made a billion dollars. Who knows how much of that is left after all the women he’s wooed, but she deserves 1/2 of what he’s made during their marriage. Yes this is a sick amount of money, but look at how much he makes. He was the highest paid athlete in the world last year.

Tiger has it easy! I have to stick 100% of my pay into an account my wife basically controls (although my name is on the account also). Then I get my allowance!

The logic, if one can even call it that, is so twisted by many here.
The story I read is that Rachel supposedly got a million dollars out of Woods today, which is where the pimp-prostitute correlation came from.
I have always believed that Elin is the victim in all of this, and maintain that she should take Woods by the nose to divorce court.
Granted that Woods is trying to appease her with his used-car salesman approach, I would prefer that she end things on HER TERMS instead of his.

Why does everyone assume his wife is pure as the driven snow, how silly is that?
IF she were so pure she’d either work it out, or take the millions she agreed to plus an undoubted ton of additional child support, and leave.
She wouldn’t start negotiating for $55 mil. Maybe she also wouldn’t necessarily commit an assualt and practically kill the guy. You know as the system looks at this he could land her butt in jail.
All I’m saying is it’s fun but we don’t have the slightest idea of what these two super stud millionaires really are all about.

I would bet that one of these gold diggers tried to get some $$$$$ out of this or she would tell Elin and since Tiger did not play ball Elin got suspicious of something, went through the address book and bingo Tiger makes a call to one of his playmates to take her name off her answer machine....what a mess.. a sad mess..this could have been a dream family..but nope..guess Tiger will have to get some lessons with regard to women from The Donald..the other wealthy man who seems to have an eye for the ladies..he is on what wife no 3?
I disagree with The Judge a lot. It depends on the state law involved. Florida is one of a few community property states, but that is not necessarily relevant. But the idea behind a pre-nup is that the marriage itself is consideration for the contract entered into prior to the marriage. So, by definition, couples cannot enter into a pre-nup after they are married to each other. I see some other apparently more expert folks have chimed in with the opinion that pre-nups may be amended after marriage. Of course any amendments have to be agreed to bilaterally. My question is whether a court would honor such post-nup changes, even if both sides agreed. That fine question is a matter of state law. And maybe the Woods’ pre-nup says it will be construed according to the laws of the state of ? (wherever they signed the original or whichever state laws they wanted to be bound by).
