ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- The Florida Highway Patrol says it will issue Tiger Woods a careless driving citation for a car crash outside his Orlando-area mansion last week.
Maj. Cindy Williams said Tuesday that will close the investigation and no criminal charges are being pursued. Woods faces a $164 fine.

Tigergate?
The no driving / no putting dweeb. He needs to use this time off to get in some lessons and practice. Same as me.
NEXT!
Bring on the mistresses!
In other words, this whole media frenzy was a big nuthin’, as we all suspected.
I am fairly certain that Woods will pay this money to the police department and try to bury the issue, but I have no sympathy for a man who refuses to tip restaurant staff.
Of course had this been 99.9999% of the other driving public, they would have been hounded to death with police questions, medical records would have been sought and witnesses interviewed in an effort to determine if the crash was in any way related to a substance or drug abuse.
If anyone in florida in the future gets stopped for any accident, remember these words of Tiger’s attorney: All they are required to provide is drivers license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration. NOTHING ELSE. So, make no statements, provide no info except as required by law...and then see how fast you end up with trouble.
Wait a minute... didn’t this incident happen on private property?
If it did, the police would have no business citing him.
And I don't like horse thieves, but what has this got to do with Tiger?
Tiger’s wife got a mulligan on this incident. Hopefully they both will get counseling. She has some violence issues. He probably has marital fidelity issues (or at least major tabloid reporting issues). Perhaps they both will become better spouses through this ordeal. The situation could have ended much worse. Affairs and alleged affairs can lead to terrible endings.
At long last I can walk the streets safe without the worry of being robbed by a professional golfer millionaire.
(Why is that when I ask why my neighborhood isn't patrolled, police aren't visible on the streets, etc, the answer is always “manpower”. Yet every time some celebrity gets in the news, there appears to be enough “manpower” available to choke a goat.)
He hit a fire hydrant. So he was in a public easement. He also hit the neighbor’s tree. He might have also driven in the road or across it.
At minimum, he drove on a public easement and had an accident. So yes, the cops do have authority.
>>didnt this incident happen on private property?
In the Obamanation, there is no private property. There is only public property you have to pay for and maintain.
(Seriously, he hit a fire hydrant. They are located on easements.)
Court of Public Opinion: Just getting warmed up..
No, in other words, the DA was paid off.
The DA or whomever pulls the strings. The Mayor. The Guvnor, probly. Maybe even Obama himself.
Surely there is some bailout money to help the poor guy with this.
But I don’t follow golf much - does he really not tip? What a jerk.
