I am homesick for the range. I have never lived anywhere even resembling the wide open range, but I am reading a wonderful book by Ted Kerasote "Merle's Door, Lessons From a Freethinking Dog", that was recommended by SnarlinCubBear. It's a biography of one dog's life with his person, Ted, spanning 13 years in the little town of Kelly, Wyoming, at the base of the Grand Tetons. It's about their relationship as they spend their days roaming the Tetons, skiing, river rafting and communing with nature. This book is causing in me a homesickness for a place I've never lived and a yearning for a big golden dog.
Thanks for the book recommendation Snarlin. I am enjoying this story so much! And did you see, Ted has a new book which will be published next year, "Pukka, the Pup After Merle"?
Oh, I’m so giddy for you, on this book-journey. It truly IS a fabulous book. I keep it handy and re-read pages, because I miss it so.
And yes, I miss Kelly, WY and hanging with Ted and Merle. And the book just gets better and better as you read.
I will definately be reading more of Ted’s work.
