Tiger’s good-guy image manufactured from start
NY Post ^ | 11/30/09 | PHIL MUSHNICK

We ca never allow it to be only what it is. Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer in the history of the game. We can’t stop there. No, he’s also the world’s greatest human.

And to suggest anything less means you’re the one with the problem. Hmmm, perhaps you even have a problem with the color of Tiger’s skin. Team Tiger, you may recall, dropped that hint, early.

So if you know what’s good for you, stick with the story, especially you TV guys: Greatest golfer, greatest human. Got it? Now don’t forget it.

But the world’s greatest golfer has a lot in common with all of us. He has character flaws. We’re just not supposed to know that the world’s greatest human is human.

NBC News’ Kristen Dahlgren on Saturday, described Woods as the man with the “golden touch and sterling reputation.” Of course, she did. Why would she think or report otherwise?

It comes as thin surprise that Woods and Team Woods have been less than cooperative with authorities in the three days following his 2:25 a.m. domestic car wreck/whatever the heck happened. From the time he was 15, he was taught to beat the rules.

I don't follow golf so I don't know much about Tiger Woods. I really don't care about him. Or any other "professional" playing a kids game. I don't see the point of "pro" sports of any kind and I certainly don't consider any of these guys "heroes". Sgt. York was a hero, Audie Murphy was one too. We have had lots American heroes. Tiger Woods is no hero. We have many heroes on the ground in far away places, risking their lives. We have heroes in blue and heroes fighting fires. But a guy knocking a little ball around? Hero? No way.

The best thing I can conjure up about this Tiger Woods "thing", whatever it is, is that I've seen pictures of his wife and if he does not want her anymore or she does not want him I'm certainly available. She can give me a call.

Statement from Tiger Woods

11/29/09

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

Sorry, I don’t know that anything other than a car accident happened. And I suspect neither do you.

If Woods called 911, HE MADE it police business. With all the bad publicity surrounding domestic beefs, and potential law suits, cops have to respond, and investigate. It’s usually in the R&Ps. Hell, when I was an ADA, the County Exec issued an order that in ANY charge of domestic abuse, an arrest HAD to be made.

Believe me, the calls cops like handling least are domestics.

Injuries from car crash to prevent his participation
11/30/2009

Due to injuries sustained in a one-car accident last week, Tiger Woods will be unable to play in the 2009 Chevron World Challenge.

"I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week," Woods said. "I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I'm very sorry that I can't be there."

"We support Tiger's decision and are confident the strong field and excellent course will provide an exciting week of competition at the Chevron World Challenge, said Greg McLaughlin, Tiger Woods Foundation President & CEO

Woods will not participate in any other tournaments in 2009 and will return to action next year.

Reputed 'Other Woman' Denies Affair with Tiger Woods

By Michael Y. Park
Monday November 30, 2009 08:00 AM EST

The so-called "other woman" whose name has surfaced in the wake of Tiger Woods's accident has hired a high-profile celebrity lawyer and issued an adamant denial of any relationship with the golfing champ.

"I did not have any involvement with him [Woods]," Rachel Uchitel told E! News. "Whatever was written in the Enquirer was not said by me, it was said by two people that claimed they were friends of mine, but they're not." She added: "I am overwhelmed, so I hired Gloria Allred to handle the situation. I don't want to get this much attention, and I wish everybody would leave me alone."

Just so everyone knows... ya don't need an attorney to refuse to talk to the police. But, if the police are pressing you, then you might want to get one. Otherwise, never talk to the police under any circumstances...

And with the police always looking for a charge to put on someone (Hey! It's their job... LOL...), the best advice that you or I or anyone can get is to never ever talk to the police under any circumstances, anywhere at anytime...

Talking to the Police by Professor James Duane

Professor James Duane’s now famous 5th Amendment lecture - popularly known as “Don’t talk to the police!” - has amassed a considerable internet following. The lecture, given as part of Regent Law School’s spring preview weekend.

A partial quote from a news article...

[ ... ]

Woods met Florida's legal requirement by providing police with his driver's license, car registration and proof of insurance, and is not obliged to volunteer medical records, video from home security cameras or anything else investigators might want, prominent Florida lawyer Roy Black said.

"Any lawyer with a brain in their head is not going to allow him to talk to the police because nothing good can come of talking to the police," said Black, who defended William Kennedy Smith, a member of America's Kennedy clan, against a rape charge, and radio host Rush Limbaugh in a drug fraud case.

Woods said in a written statement on Sunday that the accident was his fault and was "obviously embarrassing to my family and me." He called irresponsible the "many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me."

[ ... ]

The Florida Highway Patrol said it had not made any comments on Woods' medical information, an apparent reference to a published report that investigators were seeking a search warrant for the hospital where the golfer was treated to obtain his medical records.

If Woods called 911, HE MADE it police business.

Not necessarily. He caused some damage to a neighbor's property & a city fire hydrant. NOT reporting the accident would have been a violation in and of itself.

I’ve always been a Phil Mickelson fan myself. Maybe because he’s a southpaw, or because he and his family seem fairly grounded. One wonders what Eldrick would have done if wifey was in the same boat as Phil’s wife last year?

Oh, and just because Mr. Woods can’t compete in “his” tournament this week, why can’t he show up to watch over things? If it means so much to him, you’d think he’d have the decency to put in an appearance.

Please contact me immediately. I have won the lottery, but do to extenuating circumstances, I am unable to collect the money directly. If you send me a certified check, made payable to "cash", I will happily send you my winning ticket. Thank you for gullibility understanding.
