Let’s see...I count one, two, three,...eight, nine of you. Oh, wait! Can’t forget her! She’s my favorite Hare Christian cultist! Make that ten of you.
That’s a pretty small number. Fortunately, the vast majority of Christians accept and appreciate the allegory in scripture. Despite your dwindling number, though, you do have a small but measurable deleterious impact on the reputation of Christians; you make us appear simple-minded. My disclaimer did more to advance the reputation of Christians than any of your Swaggart-inspired literalist rantings ever could.
I’ll be expecting 10 thank-you cards from you now!
Oh, and ping the group for me again.
"I'm invincible!"
"You're a looney".
Where the text states there is allegory - indeed. Where the text is historical - no. So you worship a fictional god - most interesting.

I think the 'simple minded' are those who cannot discern allegory from historical writings. Disparagers of scripture like your self omit half the evidence. That is the whole passage in the bible and your dogma based on a hit- and- run calculation of the type that would make any undergraduates flunk their exam. Ask Dr Math forum displays the idioticy of such a lame attempt.
But since you know it all, cite the passage where it states that the diameter and circumference measurements were of the same part of the sea (crickets)
Since you demand God to give the "correct" answer for pi = why are you insisting on a false statement that pi=3.14
Since you know it all, please explain the hebrew involved in the description, perhaps you can even find a picture to describe the basin - one that matches your 'allegorical' description. This should show just how well you do on reading comprehension.
Dude, look at you knocking that strawman over like you're Bruce Lee! Hai-ya!
You can pretend all you want that believing Genesis is not an allegory is the same as believing there's no allegory or other non-literal contant in the Bible, but that will not make it true, nor will it make that the belief held by any creationist on FR or anywhere else.
Do you know why Buck keeps harping on the pi=3 horse hockey even after it's been thoroughly debunked, folks? Because it's all he's got. He can't really ask us about allegories and parables, or he will get a chorus of "Of course I don't believe there was really a Good Samaritan, it's a parable, not a history" and then his strawman would not be available. So he keeps returning (like a dog returns to its vomit) to the ludicrous idea that the human forearm is a precision measuring tool, so he can show us all up as fools when we don't hold it in high regard as a precision instrument.
Hey, Bruce Lee, where's the answer to the question I asked in post 1,024? Let's hear it.
