You really are smitten with the whisperings of the opposition!

Doesn't seem that way to me resty, just putting the cookies down for all to see - but then you answer is easier than to REALLY answer the questions eh?

I am not sure what to say to someone who sees such harshness in the passage about the woman at the well, or the rest of Scripture for that matter. I see admonishment and Love here. I don’t know why you don’t. There is something very sad there.

However, I’m comfortable with my responses on this thread and I am happy because you, in particular, have blessed me. “Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

This will be my last post to you, Tennessee Nana. I’ll pray for you.

Quoted like a good little mormon...

and like a good little mormon you left off the book chapter and verse from the Bible...

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 5:10

Too bad for you as a mormon its not true,,,

First you have to have acted righteously...

I havent read any so called “righteousness” in your posts..

and nobody here has “persecuted” you...

If thats what you were after, just remember it was the tax collector who didnt speak right who went to his house “justified”... Luke 18:14

Not the guy who was pleased with himself..

The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. Luke 18:11

(Gollies did a tax collector just call you a Pharissee ???)

But since its not and you have continually attacked the Christians in these threads, maybe its agood thing you do not intend to post to us any further...

I said “us” kid, because when you verbally attack one of us, you attack us all...

and when you attack one of us, you attack Jesus...

So just remember, kid, when you post to one of my Christian brothers or sisters, I take your judging and condemnation personal like...

I dont like to see any of our family maligned or abused...

BTW what was that bit of silliness over in that other thread when you dumped on the woman ???

You dont know those people but you made a judgement call on behalf of the cheatin’ husband.....

Its beginning to be a habit with you...

That “divining” the intent of people’s hearts..

From your own prejudices and not the facts...

Oh so now it is the whole “natural man” agrument. Never mind most LDS still believe it.

And if what was once considered scripture (even before the D&C was “scripture”) is now of the “natural man”, then how do you know when the prophet speaks he isn’t speaking as a “natural man”? How can you trust that ANYTHING he says is of God.

And Bruce R. McConkie wasn’t practicing his faith?!?! LOL. Then why does the LDS church owned publishing company STILL publish Mormon Doctrine with entries that state the Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon?

Hmmmm?

C’mmon Resty, all us Ex-mo’s know there is what the church tells “gentiles” they teach and what the rank and file REALLY believe. Don’t wanna make the church look bad, do we? Even if you have to “lie for the Lord” (and THAT is in LDS scripture -Book of Abraham).

I found this on “Got Questions?.com:

“Question: “What is the best way to evangelize someone who is in a cult or false religion?”

Answer: The most important thing we can do for those involved in cults or false religions is pray for them. We need to pray that God would change their hearts and open their eyes to the truth (2 Corinthians 4:4). We need to pray that God would convince them of their need for salvation through Jesus Christ (John 3:16). Without the power of God and conviction of the Holy Spirit, we will never succeed in convincing anyone of the truth (John 16:7-11).

We also need to be living a godly Christian life, so those trapped in cults and religions can see the change God has made in our own lives (1 Peter 3:1-2). We need to pray for wisdom in how we can minister to them in a powerful way (James 1:5). After all of this, we must be bold in our actual sharing of the gospel. We must proclaim the message of salvation through Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-10). We always need to be prepared to defend our faith (1 Peter 3:15), but we must do so with gentleness and respect. We can proclaim the doctrine correctly, win the war of words, and still impede the cause by an attitude of angry superiority.

Ultimately, we must leave the salvation of those to whom we witness up to God. It is God’s power and grace that saves people, not our efforts. While it is good and wise to be prepared to give a vigorous defense and have knowledge of false beliefs, neither of these things will result in the conversion of those trapped in the lies of the cults and false religions. The best we can do is pray for them, witness to them, and live the Christian life in front of them, trusting that the Holy Spirit will do the work of drawing, convincing, and converting.”

Obviously, I like this!

Obviously you do...

It didnt come form the Christian Bible...

Now tell us what Jesus said about preaching the Gospel...

After all...guess what ???

Jesus is the authority on preaching the Gospel, not you...

Jesus said “if they dont believe they are damned, they are going to Hell” Mark 16:16

Oh, no...

Jesus, Melian is not comforable with what you said...

He thinks thats too harsh..

Could you be civil ???

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear 2 Timothy 4:3

This only happens after the vail has been removed and our eyes of understanding reveal the Lord’s truth.

So, exactly HOW does one get called of God to be an LDS APOSTLE by revelation (both Orson Pratt and McConkie) and yet STILL not understand “the Lord’s truth”.

Are you saying you have a better understanding of the LDS gospel than your own “apostles”.

Careful there, Resty, sounds like you are speaking out against the “Lord’s annointed” and that can get your Temple Recommend taken away.

The Church is less than 200 years old

- - - - - - -
How can it be both, less than 200 yrs old AND a ‘restoration’ of the church founded by Jesus Christ, which was also the “church” of the OT?

That makes NO sense retsy.

That is Orson Pratt which is his natural man views are not Church scripture

Just like some here he is not practicing his faith as well as Bruce McConkie when these statements are made.

All must be very careful not to let our natural man emotions get tangled and think it is the same for the Lord.

We all need to be reminded it it is thy will be done oh Lord not my will.

The Church is less than 200 years old and when one enter in the beganning days they came with baggage that contain history of over thousands of years some correct and other that needed to be corrected.

This only happens after the vail has been removed and our eyes of understanding reveal the Lord’s truth.

This only comes by being humble and a sincere desire to know and understand.

_-———— - - - - - - - - - - - - - — -

Wow. In a SINGLE post, you managed to malign Orson Pratt and McConkie (the “Lord’s annointed”) in the following ways

Their views were not church doctrine...

They were not praciting their faith....

They were responding to emotion rather than the Lord...

They had baggage and needed correction...

They did not understand the “Lord’s truth”....

And they were not humble and did not have a “sincere desire to know”...

Sounds like a fast track to apostasy, dear.
