Notice God invited the people, “BOTH GOOD AND BAD” to the wedding.

Sorry; but Jesus said there are NO 'good' people.

Their 'goodness' is as filthy rags to GOD.

I have no 'goodness', you have none and the rest of Humanity has none.

"Madam, what you say is true - you HAVE no husband. Go; and sin no more."

And if you insist on being literal...

Did I?

I 'literally' want you to name names of those 'in this thread' that you have judged as being so unkind to folks.

They weren't voting for McCain, they were voting for Palin. ...while hoping (like it was implied during the campaign) that McCain would NOT finish his term in office.

Let’s try a test: Are Catholics Christian? Yes or no.

What do YOU believe about them?

ARE they a cult?

(Gee - this little game is FUN!)

I used to have access to that video of that Mormon professor teaching his Mormon class how to deceive potential victims, he explained that you do not let them see the truth of Mormonism at first, that instead you feed them milk before you let them learn the meat.

You STILL do; Brother!

That was also the interview where I learned about Missouri and the second coming of Christ.

Why; it's right there in the LDS Organization®s writings! #10

Articles of Faith

The Articles of Faith outline 13 basic points of belief of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Prophet Joseph Smith first wrote them in a letter to John Wentworth, a newspaper editor,
in response to Mr. Wentworth's request to know what members of the Church believed.
They were subsequently published in Church periodicals.
They are now regarded as scripture and included in the Pearl of Great Price.

THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
History of the Church, Vol. 4, pp. 535—541

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
  10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
  11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
  12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Joseph Smith

I can do one better than the video. I had that guy as a Prof. at BYU. I heard the same stuff, LIVE.

I tried to see him in person at Wabash College, Crawforsville, IN a few weeks ago.

He never showed...

And how do you reconcile your view with the example of Christ who ate with sinners, consorted with known prostitutes, and invited reviled tax collectors to be part of His closest friends?

Notice in your passage that it says one must ABIDE in the doctrine of Christ. That implies actively living out the Gospel daily in your life.

I think all my comments on this thread can be boiled down to this: Actions speak louder than words.

We can rebuke (reprove sharply) when absolutely necessary, we can admonish (express warning or disapproval, especially in a gentle, earnest, or solicitous manner), or we can condemn.

Due to the sheer number of Scripture quotes I can find about loving our neighbor and treating him with dignity and respect, and those about avoiding the temptation to feel we are better than others, I feel that indicates Christ would rather we admonish.

“I ‘literally’ want you to name names of those ‘in this thread’ that you have judged as being so unkind to folks.”

I think the people on this thread who are using poor technique to evangelize for Christ probably know who they are. They can read my opinions for themselves and decide what may apply to them. It’s not my style to browbeat people.

Christ invites the good and the bad to the wedding with open arms. We are each responsible to be the type of guest Christ asked us to be, and to behave appropriately. The only type of sinner Christ treated to harsh words was the hypocrite. It seems He really couldn’t abide them. Therefore, I think it is a wise course of action to watch ourselves very closely, examine our motivations and behaviours, and refrain from casting stones at others. Christ pulled others to Him with Truth and Love, not invective.

I agree with you that we are all flawed and, for that reason, none of us should hold ourselves up as the judge of anyone else. Only God can judge a soul.
