So, what you are saying is that if I don't care whether Mormons think they are Christians or not, I will not be saved? Funny, I don't remember seeing that in the Bible, but I'll ask my preacher.
I would dismiss it as a simple mistake, but oft such leaps are by design, especially by those with less than obvious yet very real agendas. I have seen you post before on "other subjects".
As it is in the world of politics and such the LDS is somewhat harmless to a great extent. Given their organization and PR machine they should have been much more successful then they have. Perhaps providence knows what it is doing. As it is they are oft on the right side of Conservative fights. Of course some Atheist Conservatives are as well.
The spiritual is where the issue lies, and is the subject at hand.
Public Relations.
In a chat about Mormonism, you posted:
“Fortunately the truth wins no matter how the enemy approaches.”
How can I be oversimplifying? If you want to dodge and post out of both sides of your keyboard, be my guest, but the fault is yours, not mine.
I do not know anything about you, but you have completely misunderstood what I wrote. I do not know how I could have been clearer. If you actually care what other people post to you, I would suggest that you reread what I have written.
This is a religious discussion, not a political one, despite the best efforts that have made for sometime.
And the money god too...
Devil’s in the details...
I know what the Mormon stance on Catholicism is. They are mistaken, but they still are worthy of dignity and compassion.
I can only show them where they are wrong about Catholics through patient, humble witness.
Uh, no. If you’ve been reading my posts, you will see that I am saying only Christ can offer the harsh criticism He gave the Pharisees. The rest of us are not perfect and cannot sit in judgment of others.
We are all pharisees in one way or another.
Yes, I agree. It does get pretty thick sometimes! All we can do is bear truthful witness to the Good News... and try to be patient. I try to let God sort out who is worthy of Heaven. My job is to get there myself and to live as Christ asked. May God bless you!
“And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
~Ephesians 4:32~
“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned, forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.”
~Luke 6:37~
“For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.”
~1 John 3:11~
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God ... Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”
~1 John 4:7, 11-12~
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ ... “
~Galations 3:28~
Are those enough? Each human being is created in the likeness of God and Christ and the apostles asked us to treat each person, whatever their beliefs, as a member of Christ’s body. Of course, you’ve probably heard the ones about treating others as you’d like to be treated— and loving your fellow man as you love yourself—and those who have faith, but not charity, as being just clanging gongs.
“If youve been reading my posts, you will see that I am saying only Christ can offer the harsh criticism He gave the Pharisees.” Is your Bible missing the letters from Paul? ... The Douay Rheims has them don’tchaknow. Paul was at times very harsh regarding the ‘judaisers’, a parallel to Mormonism of today’s culture.
“I try to let God sort out who is worthy of Heaven. My job is to get there myself ...” You fit right in to the agenda of Mormonism, working your way to glory don’tchaknow. It is by Grace you are saved, not of yourself ... and I’m sure you can now twist that to your ends.
I am a Catholic. We believe that faith must be lived out through works and that salvation can be lost if we don’t live as Christ asked us to live.
Actually, my Bible isn’t missing any pages or passages. Paul was, as I’m sure you will recall, a Pharisee himself at one time.
