...a hatred of Mormons ...

Well... I know nothing about this; but...

The only thing which lives in that area is rattlesnakes and tarantulas.

In 15 years or so I've never seen either of these critters.

"look you are going to become some type of god when you leave this realm..."

No, I'm not going to become a god and neither are you or any other mormon. That's an lds belief. That man can become a god. You can pray for it all you want, but it's not going to happen. The mere fact that mormon men are presumptious enough to believe that they are equal to or can surpass God is simply astounding.

It's blasphemous and that type of thinking belongs in the days of the Roman and Greek empires when they believed in gods for just about every aspect of daily life.

"...it seems you are not interested in the Creator aka Heavenly Father’s plan"

I am not interested in the lds plans that you're alluding to. So don't put words into my mouth or try to read my mind. That is against FR rules and you know it.

These guests wouldn't have had the proper attire anyway because they were people "off the streets" (v. 10).

Kinda like they 'crashed the party'?

HMMMmmm...

Where have I heard THIS lately??

I once knew a rattlesnake so poor...

How poor WAS he???

... that he didn’t have a pit to hiss in.

Why can’t the literalist geniuses on this site see the issue as clearly as you just did?

They have; but didn't want to waste THEIR time pointing out the OBVIOUS.

Fortunately, the vast majority of Christians accept and appreciate the allegory in scripture.

Where the text states there is allegory - indeed. Where the text is historical - no. So you worship a fictional god - most interesting.

Despite your dwindling number, though, you do have a small but measurable deleterious impact on the reputation of Christians; you make us appear simple-minded.

I think the 'simple minded' are those who cannot discern allegory from historical writings. Disparagers of scripture like your self omit half the evidence. That is the whole passage in the bible and your dogma based on a hit- and- run calculation of the type that would make any undergraduates flunk their exam. Ask Dr Math forum displays the idioticy of such a lame attempt.

But since you know it all, cite the passage where it states that the diameter and circumference measurements were of the same part of the sea (crickets)

Since you demand God to give the "correct" answer for pi = why are you insisting on a false statement that pi=3.14

Since you know it all, please explain the hebrew involved in the description, perhaps you can even find a picture to describe the basin - one that matches your 'allegorical' description. This should show just how well you do on reading comprehension.

excellent point. And there are many today who refuse the garment that God has provided.

It is the saying of an agitator, who APPEARS willing to fight, but would MUCH rather that "You and HIM" fight instead; dragging in another fellow.

I.E. He teases dog A to get HIM upset, and separately teases dog B to agitate him, and then tries to toss them together while he gets to watch the show.

I merely said that interpretation was required to understand the value of pi that derives from the bible.

No; Buck; you did not.

You stated that "The bible SAYS it's 3." in a previous post.

Do you not remember?

Jesus is not biologically descended from an allegorical character. You ought ot know that being so pro-life as you are.

“My question is how one continues to believe in Jesus as Messiah after finding out he’s descended from an allegorical character.” Mary was the willing vessel into which God placed the already existing Jesus at embryo age ... if you know anything about human gestation, you realize that a borrowed womb does not mean a borrowed ovum. Mary 'conceived' when her body received the embryo=aged Jesus, not when some sperm united with a 'Mary ovum'.

Try reading the Bible that JS did not modify, oops, sorry, that should be "translate correctly". Get a KJV from a Christian bookstore, not a JST which is a straight out modification of accepted scripture through the millenia. JS had to change it in order to support his assertions in the bom. Otherwise, the bom wouldn't stand up to mormon scrutiny.

Why else do you think that the general authorities don't want you reading books that don't come from mormon bookstores? Because if you did, you'd soon find out that lds theology is flawed.

Please do not judge the intelligence or reasoning capability of all Christians from the content of this thread. We are not all this stupid.

- - - - - - - - -

I agree completely with your statement. Not all Christians are as stupid as you.

...and pi does not equal three, right? So there’s no contradiction.

Unless, of course, you’re measuring on the surface of the sun...

Selective memory is a critical component for some people who put up the front of never being wrong.

” I think the ‘simple minded’ are those who cannot discern allegory from historical writings.”

What part of Genesis do you think represents historical writing?

Must be the one that lives under the coffee shack. Poor guy can’t really eat the mice as there are very few and the big gopher snakes beat them to it. 12 years ago there were lots of them around here. That’s because there was no control of the rats and mice. Now after ridding ourselves of most of the big guys, they stopped coming around.

Your back forty is most likely teeming with a few critters. I would think possums and lots of quill loaded fellers.
