On another thread, someone said they received a response from a newspaper columnist saying that the script was finalized after Obama was elected.
The promise of Universal Health Care from the Visitors can't be coincidental. However, there's no way they could have responded so quickly to the war between Fox News and the White House -- they just got incredibly lucky that it happened just before the premiere of the show.

The idea that the mainstream media is in the pocket of liberals and Obama himself, didn’t just sprout wings a couple weeks ago. They just outed themselves totally then. But, the scenes with the reporter could have been written just based on the way Obama has been treated for the last two years. Its as if those scenes HAD taken place and we just didn’t see them live. Until they lost it on FNC. Probably due to a narcissistic fit by Obama.
The script for the pilot was written after the election, Floyd. There's also some suggestion that ABC is not entirely happy with it. Production on the show was halted after four episodes for a creative overhaul. Exactly what that means is anybody's guess..
The aliens will be the heroes and the rebels will be just a bunch of crazy "teabaggers" (MSM term) waving Gadsden flags. After all, the aliens have health care, snappy slogans and near complete control of the press.
