Whatever PC I get will come with Windows 7 ULTIMATE so that my Japanese wife can operate it in Japanese and I in English .

The XPS is a desktop . And yes I would order direct from Dell Japan .

I have Dell Dimension desktop about 5 years now. No problem. Same withtwo laptops.

In fact I just bouthg a workstation that should be in next week.

Only suggestion I would have is to take the Raid 1 option and mirror your drive. Smoother and easiers than ghosting or backing up individual files.
