Here's something that just occurred to me. Other Presidents had many State Dinners, and they are elaborate affairs.

Has Obama had any? I'm just not remembering that.

If Obama had staff who actually WERE very intelligent, he probably could fake it through. But Chicago mobland doesn't lend itself to intelligence, just to bribery and cheating - and more.

For today's media, it depends.

CBS says the first state dinner will be held for India on Nov. 24.

The LA Times said the first state dinner was held for US Governors in February.

February, November, Governors, India -- what does it matter to the fab couple and the cool coverage?

India might be a bit puzzled, though.
