I remember reading a book - about 10 years ago - that was written in the late 50’s or early 60’s, I think. It talked about the government in the future using ploys to put fear in people so that the government could control them. It mentioned that they would use threats of global cooling (remember the 80’s?), global warming and even use scare tactics such as aliens - even resorting to using holographic images to convince people we were being invaded.
I have thought of that book often lately. Can’t remember what it was called, or who wrote it.
They would do all that.
However, with fallen angels playing the roles . . . the scripts are easier to write . . . since they bring them with them from hell.
