“Just a gentle reminder, FRiend ... “givernment” is cute the first time. But only the first time.”

Sorry, “All hail gOvernment!”

“The problem with your “no government” hopes, is that there are all manner of legal issues involved in a marriage, the first of which is that you’re combining ownership — or not — of your assets.”

Pre-nup.

“Your tax status changes.”

Not if you have a non-gOvernment recognized wedding.

“If you have kids, their existence has legal ramifications (birth certificate, for example).”

Mine are grown, hers is almost grown and we cannot have more.

“You can’t just pretend that the community has no interest in your mating practices.”

Interest? What would you like to know?

So you have a "yours and hers" situation, which implies at least one divorce, during which property and other matters were no doubt subject to legal proceedings ... and you still insist that government has no interest in your marriage state?
