I don’t know why you don’t understand that the two concepts go hand in hand — no pun intended.

The queers are not satisfied with your indifference and tolerance. They want and are demanding recognition, and approval — beginning with indoctrinating your first graders in school.

I just don't buy that argument. I'm straight and there's no way that I'm going to suddenly stop wanting to be with a woman. My brother is notoriously straight (he's in the Air Force in the middle easy right now - let's just leave it at that) and he's not going to suddenly stop wanting to be with women.

What doesn't make sense to me is the argument you're making for the promotion of rampant homosexuality. I have zero desire to sleep with men. This is not because my parents taught me this was a sin, it's because when I look at a woman - I emotionally and physically want the woman. That's not going to change.

The underlying premise of the argument you are making is that most people are innately bisexual (which I do not believe) and the only thing stopping them from all-out orgies is the fact that homosexuality is a sin. Nothing the left-wing agenda does is going to change my emotional and physical desire for a woman. How would it lead to the end of civilization if most boys are wired to want to procreate?

If the government outlawed marriage, when I meet someone and settle down, I'm going before God, my family, and my pastor and making a covenant. If the government doesn't recognize that my wife and I are married before God, too damn bad - it's Biblical and I've devoted the rest of my life to her.

I think you're not giving civilization enough credit. If there is one thing that is certain, it's that most men are always going to want to sleep with women.

“My point is you (like the lefty czar and all other leftists)are trying to use leftist ideology to tear down the social mores and institutions and conservative family values and principles that are the foundation of this nation”

Was a state marriage license required for a man and woman in love to marry at “the founding of this nation?”

I doubt it. Folks had more integrity back in those days for more reasons than one, not the least of which was the option to challenge someone that besmirched your daughter to a dual and shoot him. However, over the history of this country Laws have been enacted to prevent chaos on behalf of those who like you and Mr Sunstien would like anarchy which would allow folks to engage in bigamy and run amok creating financial ruin and legal problems for spouses they are scamming and children they never intended to take responsibility for.

In fact, I wish we could return to the good old days when you could shoot the scumbags, Since we cannot, I prefer some way to keep degenerates in check, The current marriage laws are not restrictive enough for me as the are but at least there's some way to administer retribution to the wrongdoer/lawbreaker.

Face it, You cannot trust the word of ANYONE this day and age.

Currently, family law is based on marriage rights. State sanctioned marriage. So if you get rid of state sanction marriage then the basis for family law and parental rights is GONE!

Current contract law does not cover parental rights or children in any way. So what laws would custody arrangements and parental rights rest on if there were no marriage? No body of centuries of common law and marriage law supporting your right to raise your biological child?

I’m sorry you don’t get it, but this is a camel’s nose issue and you are confused about the legal ramifications if we were to allow them to do away with thousands of years of tradition and common law.

"Apparantly many still trust the givernment"

Apparently, Some have no respect for law and order.
Apparently, There are libtard trolls here on FR.
Apparently, like czar sunstein, you're a sodomite whom can't accept the fact that Marriage isn't for perverts so you want to destroy it.

Lookee here one-note Sally, I agree with this radical freak on one issue. That issue is GETTING THE GIVERNMENT OUT OF THE MARRIAGE BUSINESS! Less givernment USED TO BE a conservative ideal. YOU are the one demanding the givernment keep it’s nose where it doesn’t belong, NOT ME.

THAT is a liberal ideal, NOT a conservative one.

We’re done now.

Have a nice day!

My posting history shows me being a conservative with a little libertarian thrown in for good measure. I wonder if yours shows someone that advocates for smaller givernment much of the time, unless it’s an issue where you want the givernment to force others to live YOUR values? In that case do you want the largest, strongest, most overbearing givernment possible?

You and I likely share the same morals and values, the difference is that I don’t want to use the force of the givernment to make others live lives that respect them.

Is czar sunstein your pastor? As for your Pathetic bible lesson, Even satan can quote scripture.

Why "specifically" would you want to do away with the marriage laws? What good "specifically" would come from the abolishment of the marriage laws?

It would lessen the power of givernment over our lives. NO ONE should have to get permission from the givernment to take part in a religious ceremony in which a man and woman declare their love before God, their church and family & friends.

Marriage is a gift that the Almighty gave to us. We need not seek permission of the State to excercise that right.

That’s lame.

Let’s just do away with the law period..

No drivers license.
No hunting/fishing license.
No liquor license.
No license for anything period...
Lets just abolish laws.

Let’s just have chaos and anarchy! Woo Hoo!

Like I said, You are advocating leftist causes.
