The snake in Indonesia (also a Reticulated Python) is definitely not 49 feet long. It is probably maybe around 25 at most. The longest snake (proven) was just over 33 feet ...also a Reticulated. A 49 foot snake would be prodigious in size ...like crocodiles, snakes tend to increase substantially in size with length (in the same way an 18 foot Nile crocodile is a sheer monster compared to a 12 foot croc, and a 12 footer is also a mnster compared to an 8 footer). A 49 foot python would have a girth and length that could probably give one a major shocker like you can't believe.
Now, are such sizes possible? I doubt it, but I am certain therr are snakes longer than 33 feet ...in particular the larger pythons (eg Reticulated as well as the African Rock) and maybe a lucky Anaconda or two. Howver, the one in the pic is not 49 feet. I doubt most people woild want to see a pic of one if it existed.
