David Hasselhoff spent two nights in hospital after a wild drinking bender in the wake of Simon Cowell's party.
The actor had apparently been drinking for days following Saturday's lavish celebration when his concerned assistant decided to call for medical help at his five-star London hotel.
But Hasselhoff lashed out and is said to have accidentally struck the physician - Dr Paul Ettlinger - in the eye.
Staff then manhandled him to the basement of the St Martins Lane Hotel while the doctor called an ambulance.
Hasselhoff, 57, was taken to London's £1,000-a-night Capio Nightingale Hospital, where he spent two nights in a private rehab suite before being discharged yesterday.
One fellow patient told The Sun: 'He was recognised immediately.
'Everyone was thrilled The Hoff had arrived and wanted to meet him.

Pretty sure that outfit is supposed to be shiny leather.
Poor Hoff, he’s not long for this world if he keeps this up.
The amazing thing is how long a human body can take that kind of repeated punishment and survive. I have a sister-in-law who is a chronic alcoholic, in her mid-40’s and probably drunk for about 90% of the last 15 years. She has been in the emergency room of the hospital in the community where she “lives” 34x in the last 3 years for injuries that are a consequence of her being drunk (mainly, serious falls). The only call that will not be a surprise is the call with the news that she has finally died as a result of the abuse. At the same time My 81 year old father has a lifelong friend who has been an out of control alcoholic for the past 40 years. Still kicking.
How very sad for your family. When one refuses to admit they have a problem with alcohol or drugs, it is impossible to get them help. Just keep them in prayer - it’s about all you can do.
The car was always the brains of that outfit.
“I’ve tried to talk to him.”
Now that’s funny.
Does this mean The Hoff missed the chance to celebrate Barck Obama’s success?
I’ll drink to that ! :o)
