Since KevinDavis is out of town for the weekend, I've offered to take over the weekly sci-fi thread for the week.
Also, if any of you missed the premeire of Stargate Universe, it's re-running tonight at 11 PM on SyFy, and is also available on Hulu.com

This is the makeshift weekly sci-fi ping. Since I wasn’t able to get the full list of names, I’m just pinging everyone from the usual list who I could see and then everyone who commented on last week’s sci-fi thread or the Stargate Universe thread - so feel free to ping anyone else who’s usually around here who I missed!

Not a regular on this thread, but wondering, has anyone seen "Flash Forward"? Seems like a good show, strange but good.

Sanctuary is the one I’m waiting for. Really want to see what happens after last seasons finale. The fight is on, will be interesting. Haven’t figured out yet who the ‘enemy’ is but have a feeling we’ll be surprised of the interrelationships between the Sanctuary team and the ‘enemy’.
SGU premier was a slow mover to me.
Although Robert Carlyle is an excellent actor his Dr Rush is a pain in the arse and a real drag on my nerves and patience. Again to much Col. Young too (just was a bit uneven for me). Not enough Lou Diamond Phillips, he should be in charge (rather than Young) and with a permanent role.
Was a bit surprised to see Gen Jack O’Neil put on a few pounds.
Col Carter (Amanda Tapping) was great, but then again I think she always is. I can see her in charge of a huge space ship, much more so than Captain Kirk.

Primeval has been picked up for a two-season venue, split 7/6 for a total of 13 episodes.
AMC ANNOUNCES “THE PRISONER” MINI-SERIES PREMIERE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15 AT 8PM ET/PT
Dollhouse is experiencing low ratings and web chatter is that it will be pulled soon.

Have been watching. It is one of the more interesting ones for the new season. I am wondering, however, since the premonitions/visions were six months in advance how they will sustain after that time has elapsed.

What is Robin Hood?
He is a guy who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor...
Actually, it is a series that has been running on BBC. It finished 3 seasons, so this may be the beginning of the 4th season.
It is a pretty good adventure, escapism program.

Dollhouse is experiencing low ratings and web chatter is that it will be pulled soon.It should be. It's awful. I watched two eps and never went back.
Saw a brief interview with Dushku. She said (paraphrase) "Echo's going to get a chance to develop her character and personality."
Huh? How does a character develop when they have no mind of their own?

SGU premier was a slow mover to me.
I watched it. It was too disjointed, without transitions between. It jumped from present to past to personnel conflicts back to present and to past.
I'll watch another week or two and see how it goes.
[I've already dropped a couple of the new network programs.]

Very much so for SGU. It didn’t show any of the flair or watchableness of SG1 or SG Atlantis.
SGU didn’t capture my imagination in the first 10 minutes as the other two did.

I d/l-ed most of Robin Hood and Merlin. They are fun to watch when there isn’t anything else on or I don’t want to watch a deep or serious movie/program.

Read in the Detroit News today about the show, Goyer, said that, “every single mystery that we put on the table will be solved, except, why the flash foward happened.
Guess Goyer did Lost, worked afternoons in the past and missed it.
Something about U of M? Guess he grew up in Ann Arbor.

Are you saying that they are going to make more Primeval episodes or that SyFy is going to air the rest of the episodes that were made and already shown on the BBC? I think that the BBC aired two seasons and pulled the plug.
If Syfy is just saying they are going to air the second season, don’t get your hopes up, it went down hill quickly after the first season.
To: TomGuy
Assuming that they are using the original story Robin Hood is straight historical fiction not science fiction or fantasy.
