Howdy!

Went to see the “Read D” also with a bunch of the offspring. We loved it!!! All the kids present from 8 to 57 had read the book and we had a lot of commentary about the plot additions afterward, most positive, but I am anxious to see the flick again. Not sure yet if I like it as much as LOTR but another viewing or 5 may let me decide. After all, got to make sure all the kids see it! :)

No special dwarf glasses in my viewing party but there were 3 veterans with Hobbit Hole knives.

Glad to see you back! We slow down at times, and get busy at others. I think we'll see more "interesting times" incoming.

As far as Middle Earth goes, I think PJ is doing his best to interpolate extra material that Tolkien would approve of (except for troll farts and Radagast). :) His use of the new technology seems skillful and just about flawless.

As far as Second Amendment civil right issues go, I see much more activity here (and around the interwebz) starting tomorrow when the 19 imperial edicts are nailed to our doors.

I made this purchase a few weeks before the "crisis" on a whim, simply because it's so handsome. This was only the third one they received from the distributor this year, and they said none of them lasted in the display case over four hours.

I still visit my favorite gun shop almost daily during this crisis. Imagine the panic if your supermarket was as stripped clean like these places are. But people behave themselves, even though some were a bit sullen. No fighting or robbing, as we've seen in other kinds of stores. I wonder why? :)

However, I'm disturbed seeing so many non-sporting weapons being put into the trunks of cars with Obama stickers on them. Next Obama sticker I see in the lot, I'm calling the DHS snitch line with the license plate and description. This is obviously the start of some sort of false flag operation, and they need to check it out.

Today's Saturday Night Gun Pron starts with an "early bird" edition to celebrate National Firearms Appreciation Day.

I'll start by appreciating this FNX-45, which was in the display case for two hours before I yelled, "I'll take it!". I'm told I now have the store record for the shortest time from display case to sale. :)

15+1 shots, ambidextrous everything, removable top cover over a custom Docter low mount, Trijicon high sights, threaded muzzle, and bottom rail. The red dot and flashlight were surplus from an earlier project, while a suppressor will still be quite a way down the road, Dear Leader willing.

Best of all, I got it at the original MSRP, minus $100 for maintaining a good relationship with the store owner. No panicky gouging, although street prices for extra magazines, if you can find them, have gone from $25 to $50 over the last couple of months.

Lots of other features in a really deluxe setup for the serious handgunner. The bodyguards of our overseers may be elite enough that five shots are all they'll ever need. I'm just a humble journeyman, and believe "always bring as much gun as you can to a gunfight". This will probably supplant my dear, homely Glock 21 as my "zombie apocalypse" weapon.
